About Firefly IO

Challenging the status quo since 2020. We're on a mission to ensure every Ghanaian child has access to quality robotics education.

Our Story

From Passion Project to National Movement

Firefly IO was founded in 2020 with a bold mission: to challenge traditional education norms and empower Ghanaian youth with the skills they need for a technology-driven future.

What started as a passion project has grown into Ghana's leading STEAM and robotics education organization. We've trained over 10,000 students across 9+ regions, organized the nation's largest robotics competition, and represented Ghana on the international stage.

"I recognized that access to quality robotics education was limited to a privileged few. Expensive imported kits, lack of trained instructors, and disconnected curricula were barriers that kept thousands of young minds from exploring their potential. Firefly IO was created to change this."

Today, we develop locally-made robotics kits (Xplore Bot), provide comprehensive training programs for schools, and create competitive pathways that inspire students to dream bigger. Our work has earned recognition from partners like Mastercard Foundation, University of Ghana, and MEST Africa.

We're not just teaching robotics. We're building a generation of problem-solvers, innovators, and leaders who will transform Ghana and Africa.
